Dear parents/carers,

Welcome back and happy New Year. I hope you all had a restful break and hopefully, like me, you are ready to get back to the usual routine.

Staff changes

We know how important it is for you and your child to build a really good relationship with your child’s key person. We try our best to make sure we don’t move staff about during the school year however sometimes, if staff leave unexpectedly, are taken ill, or go on maternity leave this is unavoidable. This happened in October and as some of you will know we had to move some staff around during November and December. Please be assured that we don’t make these decisions lightly but we have to make sure we consider the needs of all of the children from our babies through to our 4 year olds. It also gives staff the opportunity to work with a different age group or take on extra responsibility so is good for their professional development.

Severe weather

This is the time of year when we can expect frost and ice and even snow.  It is important for children to experience all different types of weather and we will continue to offer outdoor play every day. Please ensure your child is well wrapped up for playing outdoors. Staff will keep an eye on children to make sure they are not getting too cold. We feel it is important that we stay open even if it snows. Bradford Schools Online www.bso.bradford.gov.uk/Schools/Home and Pulse Radio will give up to date information regarding school closures. If we are not listed in either of these places than we are open as usual.

Photographs

Every child has their very own Record of Achievement and we want this to be a special record of your child’s time with us. If you have a photograph of your child you would like to be included in their file you are very welcome to email it to office@stedmundsnscc.com. You do not need to include your child’s name but please make sure to include their class/room and key person

‘Better Together’ day

Finally our annual ‘Better Together’ day is fast approaching. This year it will take place on Friday February 17th. This is the highlight of our year and an opportunity for you to get involved in shaping our future. This year we will be focussing on working with health services to keep our families healthy. Please put this date in your diary. More information and a booking form is available at reception.
