To achieve the award, we put together a portfolio of evidence that demonstrated our commitment to equality - policies, leaflets and newsletters, our programme, staff training etc. The director of the EQualities said that ours was one of the best applications he had seen: "The staff work extremely hard to promote diversity at every level; they challenge inequality and show a determination to foster harmonious relationships with the local community. The evidence they supplied in order to achieve the award speaks for itself. It shows a high level of awareness and really showcases their commitment to equality for all groups and individuals irrespective of ability, ethnicity or gender.”

The Telegraph and Argus came to the presentation, click here for their report.
, 06 Apr 2017 14:56:29 GMTHealthy Living Week
Did you know that research shows children who stay a healthy weight tend to be fitter, healthier, better able to learn, and more self-confident? Lindsay Mihailovic, head of school, welcomed the large group and described the work that takes place there.

Students were challenged to consider what matters in providing effective early years practice. All the students got a tour of the impressive facilities and then had opportunity to undertake a long observation.

A number of staff, with very different roles, later explained their work and our students had chance to ask questions. The visit was very enjoyable and really helped our students, many who have little, or no experience in Early Years, to understand the principles underlying effective provision.

Upon return to college many students offered comments like, “I was impressed by the outdoor space and the resources in provision.” And, “the sensory room was my favourite space, it was amazing.” They recognised how the provision was inclusive and enjoyed watching children learning through play. The whole experience should prove a valuable foundation for their future learning and inform their practice. Bradford College would like to extend thanks to all the staff for making us so welcome.

Julie Ward
, 16 Mar 2017 15:38:44 GMT2YO places available for April 2017
If your child will be two before the end of March 2017, and you are claiming certain benefits, then your child could be eligible for a free early education place after Easter.
