A warm welcome to the new children that have started with us in 2-3s over the past few weeks;

Iman, Abdul, Layla and Elena and also to a new member of staff, Sana Ahmed who is our new Apprentice in Green Room. We would also like to welcome Hawwa-Noor’s new baby sister and offer congratulations to the whole family!

Our ‘Early Words Together at Two’ sessions have been well attended and really enjoyable for everyone involved. Thank you to all parents and children who have taken part already. These wonderful sessions that are run in association with The National Literacy Trust, will be continuing over this half term.

We have also enjoyed getting out and about locally with small groups of children; shopping for our snack at Morrisons and visiting the Park for outdoor fun and games! The children who came in the half term holidays had a great time making pancakes.

Our core story this half term in 2-3s is ‘Oh Dear’ by Rod Campbell. Sharing Stories sessions for parents/carers and children will be taking place on 5th and 12th March – it would be fantastic if everyone could come along. There will be a copy of the book for every child who attends with a parent/carer.

Don’t forget, you can borrow books from our library whenever you like. Sharing a book with your child for a few minutes every day will make a real difference to their language development, learning and life chances.

Spring is on its way and we will be observing new growth and life as it begins to appear. Why not take your child out and about, to the park or woods to look for and talk about the signs of Spring – crocus and snowdrops are already out and the daffodils are on their way. Very soon, lambs and chicks will start to be born – you could even plan a family day out to a farm like Hesketh or Ponderosa.

A few reminders:

  • Please check your child’s basket to make sure we have spare clothes, wipes and nappies.
  • If your child has borrowed any clothes from Nursery, please make sure that you bring them back as soon as possible.
  • And finally - please write your child’s name clearly in their coats and hats.
