This half term in Red and Yellow class we are continuing to explore traditional tales. The children really enjoyed reading The Three Billy Goats Gruff and are making bridges and acting out this story inside and outside. Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Sharing Stories session about this book. We have been sharing lots of traditional tales with the children, such as Little Red Riding Hood, the Three Little Pigs and Goldilocks and The Three Bears. Children and staff have been acting out these stories and we have been using puppets or small characters and reading the books to explore many different ways to tell a story.

We will move on to explore alternative tales such as Goldilocks and Just One Bear. We will be encouraging children to make up their own stories by using well known phrases, characters and settings. We would love you to make up stories with your children, maybe your child could climb a beanstalk and see what they can find at the top? Or they could go for a walk in a deep dark woods?
