Men in the Early Years
At St Edmund's we have long believed that men play a vital and wonderful role in early years both as dads and as practitioners. We are proud to have worked hard to recruit male practitioners who are fantastic role models for our children and who do a brilliant job of welcoming and encouraging dads and male carers into nursery life.
Our children's centre work has also included a wide range of activities for dads and male carers, coordinated by two dedicated dads workers. We know that when dads and male carers are involved, children thrive and we love celebrating that here at St Edmund's!
The importance of men working in the Early Years was highlighted on the Victoria Derbyshire Show, which featured some of our very own male practitioners. Watch the clip here.
St Edmund's was also proud to be part of the team that organised the MITEY North Conference a national event celebrating men in the early years, which took place at the National Science and Media Museum in Bradford in July 2017.
