Our Governing Body plays an important role in supporting and overseeing the work of St Edmund's. They meet as a full group four times a year, and in between these meetings, smaller groups of governors focus on specific areas:
The Children, Curriculum and Families Committee, the Finance and General Purposes Committee, the SCITT Committee and the Birth–19 Committee.
The day-to-day running of the school is led by our Executive Headteacher and senior staff, supported by a School Development Plan that the Governing Body agrees each year. This helps our team focus on the areas that matter most.
We also have Link Governors for SEND and Safeguarding, and governors visit every half term to look at different areas of our work and share their findings with the full Governing Body.
Our governors love to be part of school life — they're invited to all our events, including Better Together Day and Nursery at Night. We'd love for you to meet them when you can, as they're very much part of our school community.
Becoming a Governor
Could you see yourself as a governor? We're always looking for committed, enthusiastic people to help shape the future of St Edmund's. If you're interested, simply have a chat with any member of staff and they'll pass your details on to the Executive Headteacher. All governors are required to have a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
To contact our Chair of Governors, please write to:
