Types of Funded and Free Childcare Provision
St Edmund's is open Monday to Friday, 7:45am to 5:45pm, 50 weeks a year. We offer both funded (free) hours and paid childcare sessions to suit your family's needs.
Funded (free) hours are covered by government funding. Paid provision refers to any additional sessions over and above your free entitlement. Please note that funded hours do not include the cost of meals or snacks — where a mealtime falls within funded hours, only the meal cost will be charged.
Eligible families may receive:
15 free hours per week over 38 weeks (term time only)
30 free hours per week over 38 weeks (term time only)
Free hours can also be stretched over 50 weeks (all year round).
